I reckon that Im about halfway through it and Im surprised I havent seen more people talking about it. I am looking forward to playing more of this title and seeing what else it will do with the premise. Been playing through The Wild at Heart on Game Pass PC and its a fantastic little game. The nice thing is this is in the Humble Game Collection and technically on Game Pass, so if you want to check it out you can pick it up at any time. Pick this up if you like Pikmin and want to see indie studios take on this. The story here is interesting with unique characters, and the gameplay is solid so far, but it’s the characters that have me interested in returning to see more. The thing is while it takes a lot of influence from Pikmin, it’s also a more narrative-driven game, with a focus on puzzles rather than time management. But come on, we know where they’re going with this. Oh, wait I’m sorry, they are called Spritelings. He takes a few supplies he has stashed around the house and a special vacuum cleaner and from there embarks on a journey into the woods. The Wild At Heart starts with a kid named Wake running away from home. If you are interested in the game and it's before May 3rd, 2022, consider picking up the game as part of the current monthly bundle. Ollie Reynolds of Nintendo Life rated the game 8 stars out of 10, calling its visuals "stunning" and its music "lovely", but called some aspects of combat "frustrating". The Wild at Heart is a story-rich action-adventure game about childhood escapism. The Wild at Heart received an aggregate score of 76/100 from Metacritic, indicating "generally favorable" reviews. By exploring the game's hidden forest, the runaways encounter several characters known as Greenshields that will help them in their battle against the darkness that is trying to take over the world. The player controls two runaway children who embark on a journey of self-discovery. The number of them that can be used at once is limited. Various types of spritelings can be used to accomplish various goals and can be prioritized for each situation.
The game uses spritelings to accomplish various puzzles and gather resources for upgrades. The player characters have little means of direct action but need to avoid taking too much damage from the various monsters that attack. Each type of spritelings has strengths and weaknesses that can be used to battle more effectively. There are different side quests that will get you rewards that may make the game easier - but they arent necessary to play. Unlocking certain locations doesnt mean there wont be more for me to find at those locations later. The game's combat is largely focused on making use of spritelings and their abilities. Ive been playing The Wild at Heart for several days, and its so easy to get lost in it. During the game, the player can explore in a non-linear fashion.
